2/12/2018 (Permalink)

Mold is generally caused by leaks letting in excess moisture. If you want to prevent the mold from growing back, you will have to find the source.

Mold has the potential to be able to grow on numerous surfaces both in and around your home and in the past we have been called out to very serious cases of mold growing in an HVAC unit. This exposure can cause severe health risks and structural damage. Is your home at risk for having mold in your ducts? What are the signs to look out for? For the answers to this questions we must dig deeper.

Are you at Risk for Mold Growth in Your Ducts?

While it is not impossible for mold to grow throughout your HVAC it is not as common as having mold in other locations such as the bathroom, kitchen, and basements in your home. Unless you have visual queue of mold or can smell the odor it is less likely that your air ducts are mold free. Mold growth is generally caused by leaks, so if your unit is not damaged there is a higher chance of you avoiding a mold contamination altogether.
